Performing since the age of two, Drew Stevyns started his career singing in church choirs while growing up in England. After returning to the U.S., Drew continued his musical development by taking piano lessons, writing songs and teaching himself how to play guitar.
Drew believes in the purity of music. There is a palpable sadness to his voice that makes his songs impossible to shake, and the music surges; hard-edged yet beautiful and melodic. He has released three albums: ‘Waiting’ in 2009, ‘Please Excuse the Machine’ in 2011 and ‘Somewhere in Between’ in 2015.
Drew’s voice is hypnotic in nature and pulls the listeners close in a unique way that allows the audience to feel what he feels. Listeners are able to connect with his music in a very personal and emotional way that few artists’ are able to achieve. “Every experience you have in life only adds to your repertoire as a musician.” In 2009, Drew touched the hearts of millions as a TOP 10 finalist on the NBC show ‘America’s Got Talent’. While on the show, he was fortunate enough to work with top music producers Nigel Wright and Shane Keister.
Shortly after the conclusion of ‘America’s Got Talent’, Drew was asked to endorse a new brand of Paul Reed Smith (PRS) guitars which resulted in a showcase performance with his band at the famous ‘Whisky A Go-Go’.
Drew has shared the stage with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, Thelma Houston, The Charlie Daniels Band, Josh Doyle, Shelly Rann and Sarah Lou Richards. His song ‘Waiting’ placed 3rd in the International Songwriting Competition.
In 2010, Drew was asked to perform at the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore raising money for the Artists for Amy Foundation. Additionally, he was invited by ‘Artist to the Stars’ Corey Frizzell to perform at the ‘Lyrics for Lyric’ Benefit in Nashville to support Childhood Cancer Research. Drew has been the headlining artist for the veteran’s organization, United Soldiers and Sailors of America (USASOA) and has performed at their Washington DC gala since 2013.
Drew’s talent has not gone unnoticed; he has graced the stages of such notable venues and events as The National Cherry Blossom Festival, The Towsontowne Festival, The Rehoboth Beach Concert Series, 12th and Porter, Margaritaville, The Hollywood Casino, The Hard Rock Café, The Chico and Bman Show, Baltimore’s famous New Year’s Eve Celebration, ‘Charm City Countdown’ and more. His music has been featured on a variety of radio stations throughout the country.
Recently, Drew was asked by Emmy award winning and Grammy nominated songwriter, Greg Barnhill, to join him in Nashville where they co-wrote several songs. Drew teamed up with Steve Silverman who commissioned him to record and perform the theme song for the internet show, ‘Pretty, The Series’ and in 2015 his music was featured on the hit television series, ‘Rizzoli and Isles’. In 2016, the ‘Song of the Year’ Songwriting Contest awarded Drew a Semi-Finalist placement for his song ‘Demands’. The ‘Song of the Year’ Contest receives entries from all over the world and only the top songwriters receive this honor.
For the past eleven years Drew has worked with legendary producer and engineer, Scott Ensign of Obscura Sound in Baltimore. Drew credits Scott’s talents to the success of all three of his albums and continues to trust his skills on a variety of other musical collaborations. Drew and Scott were honored to be chosen by songwriter, Ron Ryan to record and produce both the Carolina Panthers cheer songs, ‘We Won’t Be Stopped’ and ‘Panther Fever’ which played in the stadium during their 2015-16 season.

Live Music: Ted Garber
Ushering in a new golden age of live entertainment is Ted Garber, a genre-bending multi-instrumentalist whose “BluesAmericanaRock” combines classic showmanship with a captivating singer-songwriter sensibility. His smokey, bluesy vocals, howling harmonica riffs and screaming guitar licks are enticing audiences worldwide, taking us on a diverse musical journey from the Big Apple to the Big Easy, hovering in the Mississippi Delta before heading South of the Border.
Ask Ted about his musical influences, and four passions shine through- the iconic time-honored entertainers such as Elvis and Springsteen, his late folk-rock musician father, the rhythm and blues scene of New Orleans, and insatiable globe-trotting. His thirst for new experiences has led him to more than 30 countries on five continents. Whether it’s a dingy shantytown motel room in Tanzania, a Brazilian beach hut jam session, a single-mom waiting tables at Denny’s, or the smiling shoe-shining oracle on a New Orleans street corner, Garber’s walking, hitching, gigging, chicken-and-goat-bus-cultural-immersion is what steers his musical odyssey.
Ted kicked off his career performing covers on the streets of New Orleans for tips, where he balanced academic studies at Tulane University with his passion for playing. Inspired by the vibrancy of the city and realizing his natural ability to connect with a crowd, he honed his talent for original material. Ted went on to open for the likes of Pat McGee and has performed in venues as diverse as DC’s legendary 9:30 Club, Blues Alley, and the Strathmore, LA’s The Viper Room, and Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe. He is a two time winner of the WAMA Pop/Rock Recording of the Year for his albums “Live At Strathmore” (2011) and “American Rail” (2010), was named DC’s Top Entertainer by WUSA-Channel 9, and won On Tap Magazine’s Battle of the Bands “Taste of Arlington” Competition in 2006.
A highlight in Ted’s career was becoming an “Artist In Residence” (AIR) at the prestigious Strathmore Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC. The program offers six local artists, out of hundreds of applicants, access to an artist development fellowship program. Ted continued to hone his talent, selling out three consecutive concerts at the Mansion in early 2011. Two of these public concerts were recorded, and transformed into his highly successful 2011 album “Live at Strathmore”.
Ted’s most recent musical offering is “Santa Claus Is Goin’ To Town”, a collection of fresh interpretations of classic holiday songs. The album features beloved tracks like ‘Frosty the Snowman’, ‘Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer’ and the ‘Christmas Song’ ballad. Yet again, Ted showcases his trademark versatility and energy, with influences ranging from jazz, funk, punk, blues, and big-band, all wrapped up into one timeless holiday gift.
What’s next for Ted Garber? Anything is possible.

Live Music: O'McPub
Joe Basso and Ryan-Allen McKinney are O'McPub Band, a Maryland based Irish folk duo that specializes in pub tunes, rebel songs, and Celtic inspired folk/rock/pop music. The charismatic pair is known around the Mid-Atlantic as “probably the best guitar and bodhrán Irish duo in the DMV" (DC, Maryland, & Virginia).
We are eager to share our love of Irish culture through music and have continuously grown our repertoire of pub tunes, rebel anthems and Celtic-infused pop melodies. What started out as a few rebel songs in Ryan's living room during a party led to a few local open mics and eventually our first paid gig scheduled Friday, March 13, 2020, which got cancelled the night before due to the pandemic. We kept at it and almost 1 year later we played that rescheduled show and haven't stopped since.
Tailoring each performance to suit the unique essence of an event is our specialty. Whether it's an intimate backyard acoustic set or a pulsating crowd in a bustling venue, we have the versatility and experience to adapt to the audience and establishment. We have been able to gather many great songs from fan requests and love hearing stories from patrons about what a certain song means to them and their family.
Our musical voyage has led us to diverse settings, from street corners to private gatherings, farmers markets to legendary pubs, concert halls to cozy breweries. We've serenaded the young and the wise, the newcomers to Irish melodies, and those who know every verse by heart. No matter where we perform, our dedication remains steadfast in providing our audience with an unforgettable experience while savoring the rich history embedded in the tunes we cherish.
Do you know of venues and events that champion local live music? We invite you to be part of our musical expedition. Share your recommendations with us via our "Reach Out" form or drop us a line at omcpubband@gmail.com.
Why the name O'McPub Band?
In the Gaelic languages "O'" signifies 'descendant of' and 'Mc' signifies 'son of.' It's a nod to our lineage – we are the bearers of a heritage that has thrived through generations, despite the many obstacles and hardships that attempted to end its existence. Our Irish roots, deeply entwined with music, art, literature, food, drink, and the spirited 'craic,' have been entrusted to us by those who came before.
Our music serves as a vessel, a heartfelt tribute to these traditions. Each song we play carries within it the echoes of age-old tales and the souls who've shared them.
"The Pub," the heart and soul of Irish life, symbolizes community, togetherness, and the spirit of shared experiences. In the warmth of these public houses, stories unravel, history is rewritten, wisdom is exchanged, and laughter is abundant. Our goal, wherever we play, is to conjure the spirit of 'the pub' – a community of people gathered to embrace life and one another.
Join us as we carry this legacy forward, one note at a time.
